    My Ghetto Snake Rack

    Here it is!!

Figured I post to show I've been keeping my snakes. I am starting to build my new rack which I will post as soon as I'm done with that. But its just a 40 dollar shelving unit I got from home depot. I personally hate it but for 40 bucks its pretty cost effective lol.

Please feel free to post your pics of your "ghetto snake rack" if you have one, and let me know what you think please!! Thanks for checking it out

Hey if it works and the snakes keep humidity and temps the way they need it's just as good as any other rack.

Looks like your temp guages are all there and water spray along with your gum dispenser & chicken tongs.. yup you have it all..

Like said above if it works and it is safe and temps & humid is good then who cares what it looks like. Save the hard earned cash and buy more snakes..lol

    Re: My Ghetto Snake Rack

This is what I was using for some months, untill I got a 4 tub 32qt Rack from RBI a few weeks ago. A board from home depot, Flexwatt and Ranco (had to wire it, was fun) from RBI, and a few tubs from target. Lay it down in the floor, didnt look very appealing, but it got the job done! These are older pictures though.

As long as it gets the job done then w.e

Main thing with my set up is that it gets kind of annoying with the tubs that are stacked on one another, and all the wires. But as far as temps and all that it I'm fine. What I DO like about this shelving system is that if you using a dimmer like I am the ventilated shelves really help keep the heat build up at bay. I currently use a dimmer, and a thermostat because I have two types of UTH's at the moment. I have the thermostat working the flexwatt, and the dimmer working the zoomed's. Still would love to see some more "ghetto" setups keep em comin if you got one!!

    Re: My Ghetto Snake Rack

I see a knife and what might be a butter dish on the floor? I didn't know snakes like to have their mice buttered! I'll have to try that! Does it make them take f/t any easier? Or just help with the food sliding down their throat?

I've done the ghetto snake rack thing before. It was more like Danny's (Danounet). We laid out cardboard on the floor, taped the flexwatt in place, and set tubs on top of it, using clips to keep the tubs securely closed. It worked perfectly. The snakes don't care, as long as their temps and humidity is good.
