you say this as if I was making some sort of excuse or blaming the snake. "that's what you get", give me a break. Like it's been said in this thread several times, everyone makes mistakes and everyone gets tagged at SOME point.

Lending more fire to the debate of their brain power and/or ability for emotion; when I put her down on my bed for a second after the incident, she balled up and hid her head as if to be like "oh damn, sorry!", haha. I couldn't help but crack up.

I feed in the enclosure with tongs. I have been tagged twice once by a girl when she was 750g and once when she was 1950g. That's the only two times i have been tagged and both were my fault, the second time was reaching in with my hand to retrieve an un-eaten meal.

Re: I Done A Duuuumb Thing...

The only bite I ever got from a constrictor was when my former BP was in shed, couldn't see a thing, hadn't eaten properly in three months (was coming off an injury, the vet and I were doing liquid feedings until the poor guy healed) and I'd just handled a mouse from the feeder bin. I stuck my hand RIGHT IN FRONT of the little fellow and whap, got tagged.

The other day some guy was curious about why I was pricing certain things at the Home Depot (I'm gonna attempt a DIY snake rack soon, some comparative pricing was neccessary) and kept suggesting I consider different materials and I finally said "No, I can't use that, this will house live animals and needs to be safe for them to come in contact with" and when he found out I have a BP and plan on getting more, he asked a billion questions and kept saying "they must bite a lot" over and over again. I kept patiently reiterating that no, they aren't generally agressive and rarely bite...

...and then he asks "well, have you ever been bitten?"

If you saw an angry blushing fellow, brown hair and blue eyes, kindof on the short side, muttering in an angry, self-depreciating manner at your local Home Depot recently, that may have been me.

Mine was pretty much the same situation with my baby spider, but I was just gonna clean something out of her tub. I was feding the other BPs not her so there was scent in the room. I open her tub and as my hand was reaching inside, her head came FLYING out of her hide and struck me and went back in her hide just as fast. It was like lighting strike!
