Humidity/Cold side problems...

I have a question. I moved into a new house and my room temp is not constant anymore like it used to be in the old house, so I am having some problem getting the Humidity right and the cold side temp! I have to keep on spraying water to get the humidity right, but I did read about the tinfoil and I will give that a try. Also, my cold side is only staying steady at 69-71F!! How can I get the cold side up? I have a light, but that would also kill even more humidity right? I have a 10 gallon tank with a UTH. Hot side stays right at 90-93.

You might want to add a UTH on the cool side with a seperate t-stat ot r-stat to bring the temp up to 78*-80*. Hope this helps. You can get the foil tape at wally's for $6.

I have a small uth on the cool side but on a 10 gallon, you shouldn't need it! Cover the sides and back and top with foam board and that will keep in the heat! You can get it cheap at Home Depot for like $6! Also are you measuring ground temps? Cool side temp of 80 should be the belly heat! The air temp should be at least 75! I use the foam board for the winter months! It doesn't look very pretty but it works!

You might put a space heater in the room for a temporary fix.

You can use an overhead light if you cover all the screen to hold in the humidity.

You can slap a UTH on the end (not bottom) of the tank.

I will try to cover the sides and top with some foam board and see what I get out of it. The temp i am talking about is really air temp, not "the actual cold side" sorry, and it's steady at 69/70 and that is what I was trying to get up. My bp has never used the cold side!! I guess she likes the warm side, so I don't worry too much about the ground temp on the cold side, but it does sit around 75-80F. Hot side is always at a steady 92/93 ground temp.

The foam board will keep the heat in so it will boost up the air temps! You can also put a small UTH on the cool side with a dimmer to control it if you need extra heat!

If you've done everything and you're still having trouble keeping the Temps and Humidity at the correct levels, there's always tubs.

I know they sound bad now... But once I switched I will never go back to tanks for BP's.
