I've heard pulling away can damage their mouths? I've been bit twice by an over-eager feeder, and it hurts much less than you think it will. Generally, once they bite, if you don't jerk around, they'll just let go. My Spider has hissed a few times, but that was when I first got him, and only when I moved things in his cage around too much. Now he's much more relaxed and friendly, thanks to frequent handling
