I designed it...he built it (rack pics)
My boyfriend and I finally finished our rack system. Took a week of planning and building to get them done.
Here is the link. It's not step by step, but it's a lil look-see for ya.

Here's an approximate break down of prices:
Wood: $172
Supplies (screws, sandpaper, etc): $50
Thermostat: $170
Heat tape: $30
TOTAL: $422 approximately.

Nicely done! I love the dual purpose of the rack. I just may change my new rack that I am getting ready to start to build.

That actually looks pretty nice, especially the 41qt section. Alot lighter than solid melamine sides and the pegboard should be great for airflow.

Whoa what type of wood did you use. Thats crazy expensive for a wooden rack.

Gold infused balsa wood, with submolecular lightening cavities.

Pine and melamine and then cheap boards for the backs and top.

I built a 41qt rack for just over a hundred and the thermostat was around 129. I would suggest buying cheaper wood next time. Melamine would probably be best. Or you might want to pay for vision or boaphile racks.

while it is a bit more than she should have paid for the wood , and hardware. the thermostat and heat tape accounts for half of the cost.
Acepythons,
did you cut the wood , or was it small pieces that you bought already cut?
if you bought a 4x8 sheet of plywood it would have been much cheaper, but you'd need to cut it.
