    How long?

    Hey everyone!

So my male normal ball hasn't been eating for a couple weeks now and I was wondering how long ball pythons normally go off feed for in the winter?

He is just over 1000 grams and is definitely mature. I know that snakes can go for a long time without food, but this is my first winter with my snakes, and I am just curious as to about when he will start eating again.

    Thanks!
    Kevin

    Re: How long?

It can go from several weeks to several months.

Since he as a good body weight he will be ok just make sure his husbandry is on spot and make sure that he remains well hydrated and keep monitoring him during that time.

I have had a female that size going off feed for 9 months just to give you an idea.

    Re: How long?

I think most of the snakes that go off feed in the winter will start back up when it starts warming up.... during winter they are more focused on getting some booty..... I would back up and only offer food every two weeks, to reduce stress, and when he starts taking again go from there
