So far, yes. I'm actually in my office at the moment, reading email while feeding some dubia nymphs to my first leopard gecko I bought roughly fifteen years ago.

Yes, you're correct, I'm an idiot and a tool to suggest that people keep their commitments to the animals whose care they take on.

What you have said allergenic is seriously disrepsectful and rediculous. He rehomed some of his monitors to make room for more balls and give himself an easier time taking care of those ball pythons. There is nothing wrong with this. Its better than him losing interest and having them suffer if he started to neglect them, which i doubt he ever would in the first place.

To be frank, you are completely out of line and nothing you have said has in reality, positively affected this thread. I love my pets as family members but ive still had to rehome them because i could not devote the attention that they needed. I made sure they went to experienced owners and i knew they would be taken care of. Its more of a nobel thing to rehome the animals you have lost interest in, your not in denial and neglecting the animals.

No, you're totally right, it's a great thing to make a commitment to care for another living being, get bored of it, and pass it off to someone else like a pack of baseball cards. That's extremely noble. Personally, that's what I do with everything I love as a family member.

Nice sav, hope to see more pics in the future!

It's too bad this thread has gone to crap because of a troll.

You can feel free to keep insulting me, my viewpoint still stands that it's not okay to cast off animals simply because one's interests change. Perhaps one should think a little harder before taking on the care of an animal?

Am I the only one who doesn't think that's such an outlandish concept? Make a commitment to an animal's care, and keep it?

S/He's a beautiful little guy, I'd love to have one of these "little" guys in the future

Also, seriously? I hate to continue this, but the first reptile I had was a Garter Snake I caught when I was five; now I'm nineteen, and reptiles and amphibians are something I still love. Age has nothing to do with responsibility. And there have been times (e.g., four years ago when my dad lost his job for a short time, my mother was sick, and a family member had cancer) that I have not felt financially able enough to take care of animals that depend on me, so yes, they went to loving homes, and it was incredibly hard to do. I now have a job and feel able to again care for my animals with the respect and care they deserve, but if ever again in my life I feel that I am in no way able to care for them, I'd much rather they go to someone whom I know can give them the love they deserve. So get off that high and mighty horse you're riding around, allergenic, and try not to judge us all mere mortals too harshly.
