ok so second post well thread. i am very new at owning a snake.. so yes im very ignorant on the subject. sides that i will do what ever it takes to insure my bps health and happiness.. tank setup is simple basic 20 gal glass cage with a screen top with a 2 light setup.. using uvbs 1 60 watt black and 1 75 red night light.. during the night of course.. day time i switch the 60 watt to a 75 basking light that reaches a good 90 degrees under it.. but heres the issue.. i have read a few things from this site and it says not to have wet substrate... ? if something isnt wet in the cage how do i keep the humidity up? please note i live in north pole Alaska its basically desert with snow lol.. my substrate is eco earth and on one side of the cage he has the smag moss or some weird name lol.. basically im wondering if it is ok to have the substrate damp? since im using dirt that basically absorbs all water around it its impossible to keep 1 side completely dry if 1 side is wet.. and i have another question on top of that... i read on here bps dont need uvbs.. they will do better with ceramic heat emitters is this true?
during the day do i need to switch lights from nights to days? or should i just keep it always night?..
a link to care sheet would be awsome... the 1 the pet store gave me is being contradicted all the time by this site..
