Last night I was awaken to a strange sound. The hubby said it was the water pipes. I said NO, I heard scratching. I looked around, but found nothing. Went back to bed and there it was again. This time Ken (hubby) got up, and so did the puppies, we have 2 English cream retrievers. Ken was searching behind the couch in the sitting area of our bedroom. The female jumped up on the couch thinking she was going to get some TV time. When all the sudden she jumped up, are flew to the TV/entertainment center. She found it. The younger male wanted in on this one, so he was on one side of the TV stand, and the female was on the other side. I was swatting the Soft furred rat, trying to get it stuck in a glue trap I had placed on either side against the wall. But the Soft furred was way to smart for the glue traps, just tiptoed across the glue. With a dog on each side I started jabbing with a long stick at the rat when finally it ran out right into the mouth of the female retriever. She tossed it around, very interested in killing it, and I think eating it but I took if from her. Unfortunately she was so wound up I didn't think she was ever going to go to sleep. Now for me, after Ken yelled about it being a soft furred I finally got back to sleep.

Who said I needed a cat?
