Re: Red Tail Deal of the Century!!
Alright, well good news.
First off. I really wish I got a picture of her when she was stuck in her shed because it was unreal on the amount of color this person was missing out on...I soaked her in a nice warm bath for about an hour, and began peeling. It seemed like there was more then one shed stuck, but I don't know if thats possible. It was just soo much skin that came off, and I don't know if it was because I lost track but it seemed like I was removing skin where I peeled already. After about a half hour of that she looked soo much better, but still skinny and weak.
The guy told me he was feeding her every friday using mice. I didn't bother asking how big they were, or anything else because who knows if it was true due to all the other lies he told me. I knew whatever he was feeding was either too small, or he wasn't really feeding her once a week like he said. I was going to leave her alone for a week and let her settle in, but she displayed such a puppy dog personality and seemed like she was appreciating what we were doing for her so I offered her a f/t adult mouse this morning and she ate it!! I'm thinking about getting another one and seeing if shes still hungry. She could definitely use the extra weight thats for sure. Also he only had her for a few months he said, so I don't think shes even a year old.
I'm thinking he was feeding realllly small mice the whole time, or not feeding often enough because the of skin/bone to muscle ratio is just not right. She seems very weak, and honestly I don't know if she could even kill a live rodent right now, so I'm glad she took the f/t with such gusto. I couldn't come across any signs of RI, or rot anywhere on the body. No burns. No mites. She seems ok besides the underweight issue. I fell in love with her already, and it didn't take long. She is the most well mannered snake I have and I only had her for a day haha. Don't know of a name yet, but I'm thinking really hard...Here are some pics.

Its hard to see but her skin is actually really loose, but hopefully that will soon change! Thanks for looking
