    Brazilian Rainbow Boa Housing

So I am looking into getting a BRB (well in my mind it is already settled) and I have been searching for a few hours for pictures of BRB setups. I know how to set one up with the right temps and humidity, but I want it to be more of a display snake since I will only be getting one of this species (so I tell myself).

So, please post pictures of your BRB setups! I would really appreciate that and any advice you all could give me regarding their care.

    oh and a few questions:

When it comes to feeding, once every 5-7 days and no bigger than the widest part of the snake, right?

What is the deal with handling neonates? I think I read somewhere that you shouldn't handle baby GTPs and wondering if this applies to BRBs or not.

Just trying to cross my t's and dot my i's!

Well, I placed a deposit on a lovely little BRB girl and I will be picking her up on Saturday. I have a basic tub set up for her but in the future, I want to get her a nice boaphile cage and make it look nice and such. Just trying to get some ideas!

Surely there must be someone who has a BRB in a display!

Its really nothing special. I threw in a little bit of a fake plant. Its weird when there is NOTHING in there, lol! Makes it look a little nicer.

I don't have the flexwatt plugged in yet so ignore whatever temps/humidity you see. It will be different when everything is put in there.

All taken with my new Lumix TS1!!!!!! hooray!!

I just ordered a light tent/tripod/lights. So expect some sweet pics from me soon of everyone!!

    Re: Brazilian Rainbow Boa Housing

I'm sorry, I am not one much for pics since I have to go to photo bucket.

BRB's are great. This is what I do. I have 7, I think. The pvc cage is great it holds plenty of humidity. I use a bus pan for a water dish since it is large and helps with humidity. Cypress mulch on one side and news paper under the water dish side. I used cypress all over but it seamed to need to be cleaned on that side every week.

Your set up is nice. I would make a humid hide with some moss, they like to burry themselves.

Thanks! I will get some moss. This is really just temporary housing until I buy a boaphile or something.
