    Get what YOU like.

At 2010 prices, here are some possibilities that you may be able to afford 2 snakes for $300:
    pastel
    spider
    pinstripe
    mojave
    yellowbelly
    cinnamon
    hypo
and I'm sure others, but those were what I could think of quickly.

I managed to get a sweet deal on my Mojave, so if you find the right breeder at the right time of year you might get a good snake for very little cash.

    Re: ball python morphs

I didn't mean to imply you could get pairs of the same morph, and also I said 2010 prices, so I'm talking in 6 months or so when there are lots of hatchlings. I've already seen pastel males as low as $50, and frequently under $100, so I think it is a reasonable possibility that prices on those morphs will come down enough to get a pastel male plus a female of the other morph for a total of $300, especially if you buy from the same breeder and get a package deal.
