I would e-mail him and ask him a load of questions to cover your rear end. I once found a proven het pied for $300 on craigslist. I e-mailed the guy asking how much she weighed, has she ever had mites, RI's, did you prove her out, can I see a picture of a clutch she produced, etc... He never replied. So I have to believe it was a scam.

For me, the deal breaker would be papers on the genetics.
