Abandoned Pup
So I was a bit excited grabbing some items for my new BP coming up shortly (just got my Uncle Sam refund deposited in my bank account today!) and had to use the restroom. Went into the mens room, and a small lab pup was sitting there in the corner, huddling up and looking at me.
He was obviously scared, and I felt really bad for him. I informed an employee someone had abandoned a pup in the bathroom. They paged the store a couple times and asked if the owner was present. Of course, no one showed up.
The manager asked me if I wanted to take him since I found him. Unfortunately, I had to pass. My apartments are "no pet" apartments, but they do allow fish, reptiles, etc anything caged. If that wasnt the case, I would have taken him in the first place.
At first, I was a bit angry that someone would just abandon the dog. But you know.. there are worse places to do it. And I don't know the owners situation. Maybe it was a gift and they couldn't afford it, maybe they lost their job, etc. It's better than driving to a random neighborhood, letting the puppy out and then driving off. Atleast they knew it would be found in a animal friendly environment.
Fortunately, a lady who was shopping for a new puppy she just got, said she would take him. She said she was wanting to get a second dog for her puppy to play with- so it all worked out. She scheduled a vet visit and everything worked out

Re: Abandoned Pup
I'd imagine you were in Petsmart, it sounds like something we have had done to us before. We've had kittens left on shelves, rabbits dropped off at the front, dogs left at our front door, we've even seen someone steal a dog from us. The good thing is, sometimes it just works out and there is someone there who was looking for that kind of animal and took it home. In our case, someone dropped off a rabbit in a cardboard box with "FREE" written on it. As we frantically ran around the store trying to find the owners to this rabbit or if anyone would take it, a teenage girl came up and already had a rabbit in her arms wearing a jacket. She was in there shopping for their current rabbit when the situation arrived. She said she wanted to get another rabbit anyway, so she took him home. She has came in recently saying he is doing great and both rabbits are having the time of their lives!
It just takes one good person to changed the whole outlook on an animals life, and in our situations, that person happened to be there that day.
