    Re: I made it, finally!

I took some pics of my setup so far... Sorry for the bad pics, cell phone camera isn't the greatest.

I have 2 accurite indoor/outdoor thermometers w/ hygrometers in the tank. The probe is wired down and applied to the spots where the hides will go, under the substrate. The one on the right is where the UTH is (went with 8x8 UTH)

Out of curiosity, I have a couple small pieces of duct tape holding the probe wire down underneat the substrate. Is this alright or will it pose a risk? I have the thermometers velcro'd to the back of the tank, and the excess cables are bundled up and applied to the back and top of the tank with velcro.

I applied a background to the back, and then a rock/boulder background to the sides to kind of "shrink" the area.

I also have a water bowl in there, as well as about 1 1/4 inch of Aspen substrate.

    -------

I did the foil/duct tape method to the screen lid. I think it turned out great. I will follow it up with a viewing window tomorrow, just need to pick up a piece of clear vinyl. Hopefully this will help keep heat/humidity up.

I have the ZooMed ReptiTemp 500R thermostat on order, as well as some hides from Reptile Basics. I think it is coming together nicely

    Hi,

Pics don't work for me - they also ask for a secure connection which is probably why. Try photobucket or your gallery space on here instead.
