Re: Finally out of the way
Man o' man....aren't you at least happy you got that "first bite" out of the way?! I still have yet to be tagged by my adults. I gotta say though, I can reach in a cage pretty easily and grab any of my bloods without worrying about being bit as long as I read the snake.
It probably scared you more than anything....

Re: Finally out of the way
Glad it's over with brother!
I was honestly so scared, now I know it ain't no big deal.
I'm with you on the ability to reach into cages and get em out no problem.
I was at the vet with this guy and we put him through a little bit and once I was packing him back up I got tagged.
Just wasn't expecting it

As Tim said it is a bit more cooler to talk about I still laugh when people come over and I show them the pics of a blood bite and the look of horror on their faces when they associate the snake in front of them with the pics I just showed them lol
Any pics to upload from the 25lb bite... cant beat a bit of blood lol

that,s a very tricky question, I have a high pain threshold I think, it was not so much the pain but the shock you get especially when your not looking lol
so, scale wise I would say it was a 5 or 6 on how bad it hurt as it was short lived but everyone may have a different view on it relating a bite. The way I described it was like getting punched in the arm hard and I was surprised with the bite strength to be honest which clamped down pretty good on me the 2nd time she bit down.
I wish I took pictures a couple of hours later as my arm blew up like a tennis ball was pushed under my skin, and it bruised up black and blue. It was length of time my arm was tender afterwords the swelling the cuts and resulting pain afterwords is pretty impressive for a medium sized python........ .....two proper bites I have had, one from a blood, and one from a ball, and let me assure you, I would rather let a ball python chew on my face than let the blood have a free strike at my arm again
