    Re: so how long?

Well my first snake was my mojave BP, and ive had him since august of 09. Now my collection is my mojave bp, hatchling jcp, Sub adult super dwarf retic, albino bci, argentine boa, and a 1.2 group of blizzard leos.

    Herps are very addicting.

    Re: so how long?

Well, I've always been into snakes, so I suppose my first snake was a Garter or Grass snake. I was fearless as a kid and knew the difference between all of the snakes, so when I knew what the snake was, I grabbed it, regardless of it biting me, hahahaha.
The first snake i bought was a normal BP, Simon, probably 11 months or so ago. Now I've got two more BPs, a king, and a few green snakes, and I'm sure that'll grow really quickly once I get another job Once you get one, it's so hard not to get another !

    1.0 spider ball python, Noah
0.1 genetic blurry ball python, Eleanor

    Re: so how long?

I got my first snake when I was 10 in the summer of '97. He is a normal ball and will be 13 this summer :3 So I've owned them for 13 years so far.

I didn't even get another snake until '07, and that's when I got my female hog island boa and male albino boa. They were a trade off for the fact that my mom wanted to keep the bp at her house when I moved away since she had fallen in love with him too. I took pity on the whole empty nest syndrome thing and let her keep him, no matter how much I wish I could still see him. But having the boas has definitely made it easier. So I didn't have to go without any snakes at all, that would have been a very sad time.

And what is your longest living one? Or oldest currently still in your care?

    Re: so how long?

Thats a tough question as so many will duck in and out of herps as many years pass and things in life change..Zoo's and institutions are the best bet for longivity records..I'm thinking the washington zoo had a ball for 40 plus years if memory serves correct..As of yet I've never owned one snake for more than 10 years but have had some that would exceed 10 years old..
