    Success!

Isis let me hold her even longer. I think she's going to be okay, handling wise. She just gets a little defensive when you go to take her out. I simply tapped her nose ever so gently and she moved her head away from me. Then I touched her back then picked her up. I brought her downstairs and she just chilled on me while I watched Kung Fu (really awesome old t.v show). She was curious as to her surroundings and met one of the kitties, but other than that, she was good as gold. I'm so happy she is starting to grow too. I weighed her before I brought her downstairs and she's 366g. I'm bumping up her prey size for her next feeding. (rat wean) After holding her for a while I remembered why I fell in love with her. She is so curious and so mellow. This is what she was like as a baby. It is so nice to have her act like that again. Now to get my credit card paid off so I can buy her a future boyfriend! I also snapped a few more photos I'll be uploading later.

Very cool. This sounds much like my first half-year with my BCI. It was very frustrating at times, and there didn't seem to be as much progress as soon as I was expecting.

I started to wonder if I simply had an aggressive snake, and that I would have to deal with it. I made a post about it, and the next time I held him, he started being a lot nicer. Fast forward to now, which is about eight months after I got him, and I sometimes consider him sweet. He doesn't watch my every tiny move with suspicion, and so on. The only trick is that he is not at all confident in my hands or on me, unless I provide firm support to his tail. He freaks out pretty fast, but it's getting better as he gains weight.

    It's a very interesting progression isn't it?

I think that was her problem too. She wasn't trusting my hands to support her and she'd flip out. Last night she was just a completely chill snake. I was very happy! I really don't want her to be an aggressive snake when she's bigger so I'm starting to handle her at least a few times a week to get her used to me again.
