Love the Snow!
Despite the fact my car is covered in snow and I am stuck at home, I checked on the snakes this morning and my pastel is in a nice lock with my normal. I can't wait until she ovulates!
Now I do have another pair together but I am not seeing ANY action between the two. Either I'm missing everything or nothing is going on and I don't even see any courtship signs (trails, crumpled paper, etc). My friend mentioned trying another male with her. I was going to just breed the one male to her because I'd be getting 50% possible het pied normals from the pairing and need to make sure that the normals I get are possible hets and not just normals from a pastel or spider pairing. But I do have another female that might be ready in a few months that I could try pairing my het pied to. And that would allow me to try this female with either my pastel or my spider, or both and see what happens. What would you do? Keep pairing her up with the het pied male or try another male?

Re: Love the Snow!
Oh and Akina's follicles are getting huge. They are easily twice the size they were the first time I felt them. I'd say they are about the size of a small golf ball. How big do they usually get before you see ovulation?

They are still locked. This is her longest lock yet. I'm getting so excited!

If they are golf ball size, she is getting close. Whoohoo!

Re: Love the Snow!
I'm pretty sure they are close to that size. When I first felt them they felt like marbles and I really had to feel for them. Now they feel huge and I barely have to palpate for them. Before they felt like they popped over my fingers. Now they feel like they roll over my finger because they are getting bigger. Last year she began glowing about a month before ovulation. So hopefully she's getting close.

Thanks! Its all so exciting. Right now everyone is watching for locks and ovulations. Then everyone will be looking for eggs and then in a few months, hatching! Its like Christmas all year round!
