    Cloth Bedding

Can I use cloth bedding for my ball pythons? Thinking of saving some tree's and I have an old washing machine I use for work clothing.

After a while it will start to smell awful. If the smell is still there it means bacteria is growing.

    I would not suggest it.

I don't think the bacteria growth would be any different than if you were to use other substrates. The cloth substrate should work fine as long as you replace/clean it whenever it gets soiled or wet (spilled bowls).

I'd be leary of detergent/bleach residue left on the cloth after you washed.

As long as you clean it regularly and make sure there is no holes that they can get stuck in. Try it and report back to us.
