Hehe. Way to put gun control, the immigration issue and the liberal media into one fake story. They forgot to mention that the illegal immigrants were a gay married couple that wanted to steal money to open up a government funded abortion clinic...

    Re: Home Defense

Proper home defense is one of those things that many people tend to think is a single solution..I took a class a few years ago talking about home defense. They taught about security lights, locks, security systems, even landscaping to prevent or deter break-ins. Then they taught tactical home defense which I like the best..things like remember you know your house they don't, small targets are harder to hit, muzzle flashes in a dark room will blind you and them so be sure you can hit what you want to in the first 3 rounds.

Only could have been better if they didn't die...they were rushed to free health care services...right?

C'mon man...It's a completely fake news story with a political agenda...but it has good morals in it.

    Re: Home Defense

My $0.02 on using guns as home defense:
The only way it is useful is if you keep a loaded gun handy. That means that you keep one on you at all times, keep loaded guns stashed and accessible around your house, or you take them out of your safe every time you come home.

The first is fine as long you have a concealed weapon permit.

The second is not a really good idea because you won't always be home all of the time and if someone does break in while you are not home, those loaded accessible weapons can be found by the perp and taken for use at other crimes.

The third means that every time you leave you properly store your weapons in a securely bolted safe and then take them back out when returning home.

All of these also assume that you have enough time to realize you're in danger, make a decision about what to do, get your gun, make sure it is ready to fire, and then get yourself ready to fire, all before the perp gets in and to you.

If it is a home invasion, they are anticipating that someone is home and already have their weapons ready. If it is a burglary, they are hoping that nobody is home and will most likely flee when they realize somebody is home. Either way, guns don't really make a good choice because in a home invasion, you probably won't be ready for it unless you are extremely paranoid, and in a burglary, if you shoot an unarmed man running out of your house after they discover you are home, you could possibly face legal action against you.

The best method is to prevent or deter.

Again, that is my OPINION, so I'm sure many of you will disagree, and that is perfectly fine.

    Re: Home Defense

    Great fake story.

How cute that an 11 year old with be traumatized for life because she killed two men and watched one of them die.

I'm all for guns, but this story is ridiculous.

    Re: Home Defense

i have one small concern about this story ..... it seems the story is made up. i get that, but what if it was a real story? who would trust their 11 year old with full access to a shotgun? thats a lot to swallow!

P.S. Reediculous is very Pro Gun ... just not where kids can get a hold of them!

    Re: Home Defense

Good moral to the story. We had our door busted open on Halloween night, but I screamed and when my BF went to go check what was going on there was no one there. We looked into getting a taser, but never followed through with it.

Being in a very high immigrant populated state, it makes me want to go through gun training.

Yeah, I love that site, I use it quite a bit and it's got a really good search engine so it's easy to find stuff. It's surprising how many of those 'pass this on to everyone you know' type E-mails are complete fabrications. It's kind of like professional wrestling. Fun to watch but not much truth or reality there.
