To my knowledge the Canadian border patrol is amazingly hard to get through. My mom works at erickson aircraine as an HR manager and has to do all the paper work for American and Canadian workers that travel from Erickson's operations in Oregon to Canada. She comments on the issue alot and its impressive how hard it is to get through. Specialized enginners that work on Erickson aircraft that have all necessary paperwork have been turned around at the border after an 8 hour interegation becuse the border patrol ' simply did'nt like there tone" and my mom has that comment on paper lol. PETA probobley got there terrorist through the border patrol by giving her all necessary paperwork ( which is a major pain) and some kind of ergent reason with a written recommendation by someone in canadian/ u.s. politics. PETA is tricky that way.

Her punishment should be getting slapped in the face with a piece of seal blubber! I am a member of PETA , of course not the radical wack-a-doo club, but the "People Eat Tasty Animals" club!

For the record, I in no way support PETA - I think they're a bunch of idiots. That said, you really think throwing a pie is worthy of "something harsher?" It's not like a pie in the face is going to cause significant harm - at worst, it might cause mild embarrassment/annoyance.

Actually, when you throw anything at someone's face, you run the risk of severe injury. Broken noses, cut lips, eye injuries...

Anything? Please. If that were the case, little kids would have a lot more broken noses and eye injuries than they do just from getting into pillow fights. I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, we didn't hold back swinging those pillows, and my nose is intact.

Secondly, we're talking about a pie here, not a baseball, hockey puck, or other heavy/hard object. Unless enclosed in a hard, heavy pan, a pie is just going to disintegrate on impact, and who would waste a good pan throwing it at someone? If your aim was to cause significant harm, there are far more effective options.

On a separate note, I think it's possible that your definition of "severe injury" may vary from many other people's; I just don't see a cut lip as being in that category, nor do I see how airborne baked goods could cause one. (Well, ok, maybe REALLY stale, dry bread... )

I used to work in an emergency room, we had small children coming in every day with eye trauma from hurling 'harmless' objects at each others faces. We had a six year old go blind in one eye after a pillow fight punctured his cornea.
