    Rats having trouble breathing, gasping??

I'm still trying to learn about the rats I'm raising and this symptom is baffling me...I had a couple of blues (I know weaker genetics ) weanlings who appeared to be gasping for breath...One I noticed this past weekend when I was feeding right before I dropped him in the cage (it was kind late because the snake just grabbed him out of my hands )...But then I saw another one in the tub having the same problem tonight...I euthanized him, but don't know what this might be and if it was bad to feed the last one to my burm? Does anyone have any thoughts?

Im unsure of what is happening but here my take so far...
Blues only have weaker genetics to a link to blood disorders.

    1. Your females and males possibly have issues birthing pups with lungs fully developed.
    2. Pneumonia, it hits hard and fast.
    3. Toxins or poisons!

Until you rule out any toxins I suggest you don't feed them to anyone at all.

Trust, me I tried to pull it back out but my Hypo already had it coiled...Figured that would have been unwise to take a rat out of his mouth...
