Wooo hooo pay day this week new boa!

Ok guys I'm taking the plunge into boas. Well technically I have a sand boa, but I want a big boa...I was thinking along the lines of a Dumeril's Boa, or a RTB. I hear both have temperamental attitudes which kinda bums me out because I like being close with my animals, but I do see a lot of nice ones out there too. I think it has to do with how soon they were handled as babies. I'm sure these snakes that come from big breeders that aren't handled are programmed more with their natural instincts and can be more nippy. I'm going to try and find a breeder that is a little more small scale to better my odds at acquiring a easy going guy. Just wondering what your thoughts are on both species. I would get both, but I'm also having car trouble at the moment and funds are tight so I can only get one. Look foward to hearing your thoughts everyone!!

Id have to dissagree on RTBs having bad temperments, both mine are total marshmellows. Just ask the breeder if he will find one with a good attitude, they cant all be devils! Even if they are, with handling they will calm down.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

I agree. My BCIs are very docile. None of them have ever been defensive or agressive.

Most all BCI's with proper handling turn out to be absolute sweethearts. Also want to add I believe the same about Dumeril's. I've heard occasional stories about aggressive ones, but from my experience with the two I have and some my friends have, they are just as mellow, or even more so, than the BCI's I have been around.
