Re: if the snake ban goes thru?

It is ridiculous in an era where unemployment is at an all time high...ppl are loosing their houses left and right, and we are on the brink of recession that we are facing a bill that will destroy a $3 billion dollar a year industry. It will not only effect the breeders and the owners...it will affect so many other areas. It makes me furious that DC and the politicians that are pushing this are dealing with something like this when there are so many other things to deal with.

I know I said it before but I will continue to say it again and again until everyone understands. Even if you do not have the listed 9....they are and will come for you. It is a matter of time and if this goes through it will be that much easier for them to target BP's, monitors, lizards, bird and eventually all pets.

Since we are a smaller group of "pet" owners that means we need to speak up twice as much. Let me tell you...the average person without snakes is probably not going to speak up for us. We will unfortunately not have every household defending this bill until they come after dogs and cats.

If you want the freedom to own and breed anything....you should start speaking up and writing now!!

Lets just say it has advanced to ....way too much to list

There are no scheduled votes at this time.

Last week, the US Fish & Wildlife Service announced that they would be initiating the official regulatory process to see if these snakes should be listed as injurious. The message that I have been getting from Senate and House staff members in DC is that it is not likely that there will be any votes scheduled until at least that process is completed.

    Hope this helps.
