One of our hatchlings has started some weird behavior on feeding days. He has always been a great eater. His technicque was always 'wham, bam, thank you ma'am.' For his past few feedings, he still gets very excited during the pre-senting process, strikes the f/t mouse as usual, constricts and then instead of eating it, he puts it down and leaves it there. We wait a few minutes and try again with the mouse dance. Then he'll strike it again and eat it. He's 3 months old and weighs 250 grams. Everything is the same in his enclosure (20 gal tank) except that it's getting tighter now since he's growing like a weed.
He does eat in the end and that's a good thing; but it's just strange that his feeding has now become a two-step process.![]()
