To be quite honest I don't think a vet trip is in my future. The only one I can find around me says it's $80 for a checkup and then more on top for antibiotics...a new snake will be half that. I don't want that to happen, but I haven't gotten a chance to bond with Monty b/c I've been trying to let him adjust.

Can you please clarify this? When you say that a new snake will be half that, are you stating that when it dies you'll just replace it with a new one rather than getting it the vet care that it deserves? They shouldn't be considered disposable pets.
