    new here and new to ball pythons

    just got a ball python about 2 week ago she is at least 9 years old she just shed right before I got here and had not eaten for at least 2 months she had been kept in a house that was for sale and the temp was set at 58 for about a month I brought her home warmed her gradually she ate a live rat at the end of the second week she now apears to be losing weight any ideas what is wrong

    About the best thing I can recommend right now is see about getting her in to a vet for a check-up to make sure she doesn't have any internal parasites or respiratory infections(RI). A month is a long time for her to be that cold. Have you been weighing her since you got her? Some of the tell-tale signs of a RI will be wheezing whe she breathes, rubbing her face on things alot, leaving mucus smeared around the tank, mucus discharge in her mouth, and keeping her head elevated fo long periods of time. I wish you the best and hope she thrives for you...

    I'm not one for jumping the gun and sending anyone to the vets, but I think this time a visit is warranted. Pictures may help us too.
