First 'find' of the 2010

...maybe it wasnt' a find. It warmed up to the mid seventies today.....and what is that moving in the grass in my back yard?



Was not happy that I saw it


Not a big snapper, but it was fiesty.



....and it made me feel 'turtly' so I decided to take a picture of the three amigos...

These guys are waiting on warm weather and a little pond in the yard

Nope. I have never went salamandering in my life...ha ha...wouldn't know where to start.

and around here.....Cool weather = hunting season....I hate wondering the woods during hunting season

Head out to the nice forests (like the ones in western LA), and start by dipnetting in ephemeral ponds and rolling logs near creeks and depressions near bodies of water.
