While I have decided not to purchase any snakes until I have paid off my credit card bill (this is why I have so many snakes in the first place) I would vote to get a het female this year as I have a pastel. In the future I could produce homozygous animals and pair them with my pastel to make my own hets.

Depends on what the het was het for and if I already had something lined up for that project or not.

I actually already have them. This is more a production plan for the season rather than a "getting" plan.

I was just curious how people plan their collections in terms of recessives.
