Regardless of this news I firmly believe the worlds climate is changeing, even if its slightly. You can't trust many news companeys info for or aginst climate change so I base my belifes off of personnel experince . Where I live and many otheir places are reporting change in months and seasons. Around here weather has been a month ahead. Flowers are blooming roughly a month off among othere common traits such as rain, snow and sunny days percentage are off . Every year our state brakes its highest temperature records , as do otheirs. Humans are'nt completely at fault for this, I believe its a natural cycle however, I believe we are speeding the process up.

ok enough of that lol, I'll let this thread die.

    Heh,

Just for the record I fully accept the climate is changing.

It is the amount, causes and future predictions put forward in the media I have issues with.

The climate is changing - here in my region we've had nearly 70% less snow than is normal for the month of January. Up here, people think the world is coming to an end if the drifts don't get up to the roof. Conversely, Florida froze over.

But, I knew that claim about the Himalayas was ridonkulous, a worst case scenario unlikely to happen in the current green energy fad. (I support sustainable energy, for the record) I've been to the Himalayas, aside from rampant poverty, widespread disease, and other problems of the kind, there's nothing wrong with them.

The sky is falling. Yes, and it's fallen a thousand times in the past and will probably fall again another thousand times in the future. Unlike our snake's habitat, our climate is in constant change. Always has, always will. Do we contribute to this, probably. Did we cause it, probably no.

The Earth's magnetic field is starting to change, we didn't have anything to do with that either. Or did we (said with an evil smirk)?

Everytime I hear of climate change I'm reminded of a line in a song I like that says.."just because everythings changing, doesn't mean it's never been this way before"

    This.

It gives me a chuckle when people conclude that we are experiencing climate change because "we have gotten more rain and less snow in the last couple of years". We have always been experiencing climate change. It is a natural process. Go check the Farmer Almanac. We have been experiencing these weather patterns since they were first recorded back in 1818.

Heat island effects were at their peak in the late 80's prior to the '92 Act issued to the EPA.

Yes...we are experiencing climate change, but we ALWAYS have been experiencing climate change and we always will. One year it may be more noticeable in one location compared to another.

You can thank the news media for all the hype tho...
