I actually wrote a book on the basic husbandry of BPs (more for beginners than advanced/expert keepers). It details some of the multitude of ways of keeping these guys and goes over everything from picking out your snake to what to do if it gets sick, to housing it, to feeding it and then its got some morph info in the back.
Its called "Keeping Ball Pythons the care and husbandry of python regius in captivity" you can find the link to it on my resources page (here: http://ancientwingreptiles.com/RESOURSES.html) also there is a link to VPI's pythons of the world volume II (INCREDIBLE book, I use it as a resource constantly ).
Version I of KBP is available, but i'm currently in the process of re-editing (which may take me the rest of the year at this rate).
I would say that KBP is more of a go-to resource rather than a one-read book (as i intended it to be a resource). Its got lots of cool pictures (that i took lol). It was meant for a senior project in college but i did end up actually publishing it for the general public. As a side note, almost all the animals are owned by Adam and Kelly of 8ballpythons.com
I do have every ball python book i've ever been able to get my hands on and do enjoy Kevin McCurley's books. I also have a lot of old, and outdated books with poor information and husbandry advice :/
