Yep the prices sure have done a digger..I still remember when Lesser's were 25K each..
Pieds were still 8-10K when I got my het's back in 05 and 06. Thing like clowns and g-stripes were well over 10K..Hell even Pinstripes I can remember them being 10-15K..
I'll never forget going to EbN in 2006 and Sean handing me a Killer bee, Lemon blast, clown, pied, and a lesser and telling me just to do the figures...and don't you dare drop one if it bites you..LOL

Re: best investment?
Gotta remember gang - investment is something that doesn't lose it's value over the years - a buddy of mine bought a male spider early on for $6,500 - what's a male spider now........I'm just saying.
I think Albino's have held their own over the past 10 years and haven't really plummeted in value. I've even seen Pieds drop in the past year - check out Kingsnake.com, now that everybody's making them, people are blowing them out for $700-$800 bucks!

Your buddy's male spider hasn't lost value.. For instance
I paid 1200.00 for my spider..this is this third year breeding over the past two years I've produced 9 spiders from him at a vale average of 250.00 if you do the math I think you find that cost and worth are two totally different things.
If I spend 5000.00 dollars on a snake and the next year they sell for 250.00 over the breeding life of that 5000.00 animal I will not only make my investment back but that investment will make a me a measurable profit..

0.5%?! You need to find a new credit union. lol. Leave the money in and you'll make money. Add to it and you'll make more. Buy a pair of het albinos for $350, spend $200 on caging, $300-400 on food before they are big enough to breed, plus added $$ for utilities. Produce your first clutch of 1-2 albinos at $600 pr. and some giveaway pos. hets and you're still in the hole. After advertising, box costs, etc....I haven't bought a ball for my collection in several years.
