    Males Fighting Female

I placed my Male Spider Het Axanthic 50% Het Snow in with my Female Albino Het Axanthic. He starts to pitch a fit. Thrashing around and going crazy. The female was curled up in the corner when he first started then she starts to try and get away from him. I pulled him out because I didn't want him to hurt her.
I then tried my Axanthic Het Snow in with her a few days later and he does the same exact thing.
She probes and pops female. I palpated her and I can feel six small follicles.
Both males have been in with her before but I never witnessed any locks or had any trouble. They have not acted this way with any other females. Both are proven breeders.
    Any input would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Trey

My lesser and bee do this..the lesser will just trash the tub, poop, pee, track all over the place, knock the water over..it goes on for hours..then he settles down and locks up..No clue why..

I've only encountered this with multiple males. Did you have another male in her cage and are you 100% sure your female is female?

Just leave them be. It happened last week with my male spider. I threw him in with my female normal and he went crazy for hours, then he settled down and locked up with her.

hmm... maybe for those males they feel repulsed that you gave him [them] such a boring looking and chunky woman to lay...

    And I am teasing...

    Re: Males Fighting Female

Maybe she's giving off "Not now, I have a headache" vibes?

I had Winston do that with a female one time (and she went on to lay eggs), and it was strange, but it didn't last long and he got down to business.

No telling why that's happening now.

    Re: Males Fighting Female

I have a male black pastel that makes a big scene thrashes around and then finally settles down and locks.

He never hurts the female just acts like a bad boy. Sounds like some people I know

Some just have to make a fool of themselves in front of the girls, go figure

I would remove water bowl and everything else out of the enclosure, get some popcorn and watch the show.

    Re: Males Fighting Female

Thanks for the advice everyone. I might have to try and leave one of them in there for awhile and see what happens. It just made me a little nervous seeing one of my nicest female being beaten around.
Now here is the question, Do I put the Axanthic Het Albino or the Spider Het Axanthic 50% Het Albino in with here? She is an Albino Het Axanthic.
    Thanks
    Trey
