    Genetics

    Just thinking about breeding my het ghost to het pastel next year what do you think the genetic would be

    Hi,

    There are a couple of points to make first.

    As stated above there are no het pastels in the same way as you get het ghosts.

    The hetrozygous pastel is normally just called a pastel and looks like a pastel - the homozygous form is called a superpastel. So if your "het pastel" looks normal I'm sorry to have to tell you but you got ripped off.

    If you got your het ghost from the same place I'd be suspicious of that as well.

    But, assuming you have a pastel and a 100% het ghost breeding them two together would give you;

    Half the clutch should be pastels which are 50% het ghost
    And the other half would be normal looking but also be 50% het ghost.

    50% het ghost means that half of them, statistically, are het for ghost and the other half aren't - but since there is no way to tell which is which they are all considered 50% het ghost.
