Re: Calling all Ladies - Diary Entry from Tracy Barker

I'm heading there next, now that I know about it. I sent my two letters to Senators Wyden and Merkley last week, as well as using their websites to post a letter that I generated.

Now that I'm in school again FT, I printed out, got "blessing for" and posted the NoSnakeBan flyers on all the student announcement bulleting boards on campus.

Wooo Hoo! And on Tuesday, I'll be stopping by the biology dept. again and seeing if they'd post (or even hand out) fliers.

I keep our herps: BP's, Corns, Hogs, 1:1 leopard gecko's, Russian Tortoise, and 3 FireBelly Toads, with my 2 daughters ages 17 and 11. It has been a way for me as a parent to maintain that line of communication with my daughters. It has sparked their interest in many area's, and taught them to be responsible and caring and nurturing. My youngest wants to become a vet, my oldest is going to be pursueing a career in education as an English Teacher. I regularly find Bridget, my youngest, doing her homework with a Russian Tortoise at her feet with her special BP, Buddy, draped over her shoulder. Keeping herps has definately sparked their interest in science which happens to be Bridgets highest grade!

Mike - make sure you e-mail that to Tracy, as she's not aware of this thread (if you haven't already).

Good Luck Ladies, I think this is wonderful. I cannot participate in this particular campaign, but this whole (and brand new to us) project of ours is a learning experience for my Son and myself. So if there is a similar campaign regarding the benefits of raising and breeding ball pythons as an experience for children in general, I would love to participate
