differences between male and female blood pythons??

I've been planning to get a blood python for a while now. not a short tail though.

can anyone help me out, i wanted to know if there are any primary physical or temperamental differences between male and female blood, pythons,
so i know what gender to get?

Blood Pythons are short tail pythons, lol. If you want to be sure on the sex buy from a breeder who can probe and assure you of the snake's gender. It's difficult to tell males and females apart visually, although female's will get a bit bigger and their spurs will be smaller than a males.

Typically males will be smaller and carry less bulk which may translate into easier handling,, But not always..Disposition wise they should be about the same since snakes don't PMS..Although bloods are short tailed and formally from a group of 3 subspecies "BLOOD FOLK" now would like to clarify the differences between the 3 so we say Bloods and short tails..

I'd also like to add that with a male, he might develop breeding behavior in the winter time which may or may not cause issues due to roaming.

Females lay eggs and males don't. lol. J/k The only thing I can think of is size females are normally a bit bigger. other than that just get one form a reputable breeder. Goodluck on getting you new baby.
