How to Identify a Yellow Belly
I have read the thread on how to spot one but, I have a man interested in a trade he says he has a breeding pair of Yb's that he wants to trade for a babny normal Burm.
In the pictures he sent the snakes look very similar to my normal female. My normal has the same traits as the "hunt a morph" thread but Im 99.9% sure she is normal.
Could Yb's be this common. I have asked what he got in the previous clutches to see if he produced an Ivory and havent heard back yet. I just dont see how anyone would offer a breeding pair for a baby run of the mill burm.

Post some pics of the ones he is offering in trade. Most people here can ID yellow bellies pretty easily.

Re: How to Identify a Yellow Belly
I will post pics but I have to wait till I get home. The computers at work wont let me log into my photobucket or access the link to the gallery area. I am asking for better pictures of the undersides in the meantime. The male in the current picture you cant even see the belly at all. Which is weird if that is the #1 identifiable trait.

Re: How to Identify a Yellow Belly
Hi,
I'd also be asking myself why he would want to trade a breeding pair of yellowbellies for a baby normal burm - the dollar value of those two sides is not exactly the same?
I'm thinking if he sold two adult proven yellowbellies he could buy a whole clutch of baby burms.
If the snakes look nice and you could live with it being two normal males then I see no downside.
Otherwise get the pics of the belly and look for the amount and intensity of the flames on the sides of the animals.

Re: How to Identify a Yellow Belly
Yeah thats a tough one, they really do look like normals.
Its weird some of them really do have yellow bellies, and other appear to be completely normal. I don't get it either....

THey appear to be normal... yellowbellies usually have identifying characteristics other than their bellies as well
