Sorry I missed this earlier. It might be too late to try to put something together for 2010, but it certainly is a great idea for 2011! I'll get the staff to discuss and see what we can do!

This is a GREAT idea, but im sure its to late to do it for 2010. We made calendars for 2009 and ordered 300 of them. We had all our pics and info ready and turned in by mid Sept. and still didnt get them til mid Jan.

    BTW i would take one

I'd get one! It is amazing how long it takes to get done, though. I've been a part of another marine-keepers forum and it took a hell of a long time to get everything organized. regardless, I'd buy one. :-)

Re: Is there a bpnet calendar?

Id get one too but you need to make it avail to residents outside the us.
If it takes a few months to put it together then using the bpom, hotm, etc pics wont work since we wont have enough pics in time. I think there should be a seperate contest run over a few months to get enough images. Maybe run it for 3 months and have 4 different pics win each month and theme it. for eg start in feb and have it so people can enter 4 pics 1 for each catagory. like happy new year theme for jan, valentines for feb, spring theme for march, easter theme for april. then do the same for the next month etc.

I see this done on another forum and the admin picks the top 5 or so pics as runners up and then sets up a poll for those for people to choose from.

We're working on it! You're right that we can't do a simple "BPOM Winner Calendar" for a particular year because (as I understand it, for a quality product) print runs have to be submitted in the summer to be ready for distribution in December. Granted...we could use previous years' winners...but where's the fun in that?

First, the staff will need to decide exactly what sort of layout and design we want to go with...then decide what sorts of animals we want to include...then we'll figure out the best way to do polls to collect the winners. We'll likely have multiple polls over 2-3 months until the winners are all collected.

So yeah...just wanted to let y'all know we're actively working on it.
