Question Would you eat a rodent?

Ok i know you are probably thinking i have gone over the edge for sure now .Well i made a comment on a thread and a member who will be nameless for now pmed me.Well she was wondering what her fedex guy wondered when he delivered her frozen rodents. So i wondered what the response would be here.So if something happened and you were cut off from any other foods would you fry up a rodent or 2? Heck it cant be any worse then the crap we really buy in the stores anyway .I hope i dont gross anyone out .

Oh man. Well, I have two kids. So, as many parents here will know...you try your baby's food 90% of the time before you feed them, right?

Well this concept seemed like an interesting Idea before snake feeding time. So yes, I would. I have eaten and pinky, and crickets, and roaches. I would definately eat them if I had no other source of food, or even if the food I had was something like...celery, maybe? Something along those lines.

Exactly how I said it. I was feeding my stock, shortly after feeding my youngest daughter. Just so happens I had an extra pinky that day, and I decided to see if I could freak my fiance out. Needless to say, it worked. And, it was a pinky mouse. The roaches/cricket, I just used one out of the feeders. Cricket wasn't too bad. Roach, a little too juicy. I won't even go into the pinky.

Ever seen Never Cry Wolf? Amazing movie based on a true story. This guy survived off mice for months in the arctic wilderness. If I had nothing else, I would not hesitate to cook up some rodents.

Rodents are fine. I just don't see how people can eat snake.

I saw a guy peel an Atrox and eat it raw when I was doing landscaping. I heard them yell snake but by the time I got there, his foot was on the head and the skin was coming off. I think a co-worker of mine actually has a picture of him eating it. It was a beautiful 3 foot or so western. As far as I know, it just wanted to get away. No rattling or defensive posture.

Re: Would you eat a rodent?

You need an option on the poll for "I've already eaten rodent, even though I had other food."
Just sayin, cause I'd have picked that one.

Re: Would you eat a rodent?

In the past I have eaten all kinds of weird foods. My grandpa was full blooded cherokee and lived 100% off of the land. I used to spend summers with him. He had no electricty, no running water. He grew and hunted his own food. I have eaten grubs, roaches, crickets, grasshoppers, rat, squirrel, raccoon, bear, lizard, snake, all kinds of birds, fish, and tons more.

I'll eat anything if push comes to shove, better to eat that some weird stuff than die. The best thing I've ever learned is how to survive in a situation where most others wouldn't. I hope to never have to use those skills, but if I ever am, I'm confident that everything will be fine.
