We had a Bulldog a number of years back who had cherry eye as a pup--actually both eyes. The first one was taken care of by the breeder. Then after we purchased him, it developed in the other eye. We had the surgery to remove the inner eyelid, and he was fine. He lived to the age of 11 never having any eye issues after that.
