    New one for me

I bred one of my females to a Pastel this year she took perfectly to him and they locked a lot over the time they were together. She had her ovulation and then exactly 2 weeks later she shed perfectly. Well here we are 3 weeks later from that shed and she is in shed again. Now I know that if it is your first time seeing an ovulation that you could mistake a lot of other things for it but not in this case. I know she has ovulated and everything. So my question is what is up with this second post ovulation shed?

    Any advice would be great.

    Thanks
    Tom

    Re: New one for me

Sorry no pics of the ovulation. This is an actual shed. Not to be rude or anything to anyone at all but this is not my first time breeding and I have seen most everything this is just something I have not seen. If anyone has experienced this in the past please let me know. I am one of those people who keep perfect records and check on my snakes on a daily basis, well actually 3 times a day every day. Most of the time I can get a shed down to what time they shed, a defication at what time they deficate, things such as that. I am just OCD about my snakes.

I would post pics but everyone has seen pics of a shedding snake the only difference is if you let her glide over your fingers and apply slight preasure you can feel 9 eggs in her. That is the only reason I asked this. But after going back over my records I do show that last year the same female did the same exact thing one week before laying eggs so it might just be her thing. I will keep everyone updated on this adn when I get eggs I will post pics of them.

Thanks for the information but I had already thought of that.

It happens from time to time...usually when they have a larger than normal ovulation...and some just do...I've got one that sheds twice every year...never any problems. One year she actually shed and within hours had 6 eggs under her.
