Re: feeding my bearded dragon by hand
not sure about mashed, but we feed our beardies by hand and tangs, and the hunt as well, our female baby only eats veggies from our hand

Re: feeding my bearded dragon by hand
Yea i feed my beardies by hand. they're always very careful and wary about it too. like they wanna make sure theyr'e not gonna get me haha. and my younger one will only eat veggies by hand... my older one... veggies are like... evil...
feeding by hand is fine...
feeding mashed over whole... i would go with the whole.
why would you want to feed mashed? just wondering. and what exactly do you mean by mashed?

Re: feeding my bearded dragon by hand
It depends on how old your bearded dragon is. With our babies we put their veggies in the food processor to make sure it was small enough for them to eat. My adults get their veggies shredded and their greens are chopped up. We hand feed treats but not their regular food, and their worms are put in their salad dish and crix and roaches we feed in a separate container so there aren't any stray insects in their vivs. We only hand feed treats because a beardie will get used to hand feeding and expect it instead of eating from their dish. Also some beardies will accidentally nip the hand that feeds them. lol My husband has experience with that.
Here is a site where you could figure out some staples and treats for your beardie.

As to the mashed though, I'm confused. We feed things cut up no bigger than the space between our bearded dragons eyes to gauge how big each individual piece is. Plus just about all veggies bearded dragons eat are raw so I think it would make it hard to mash them.

Re: feeding my bearded dragon by hand
I had a beardie about 13 years ago that we feed so much by hand that he eventually got too lazy to chase crickets and prefered to be feed like a baby.
He ended up being one fat lazy lizard that loved to be held, true story.
