To Stick or Not To Stick UTH Question
Should I stick the UTH to the tub or does it matter?
Right now it is not stuck to the tub because I plan on moving her to a bigger sized tub, but Im trying to decide if I should stick it on to the bigger tub. Right now the tub isnt conducting the heat very well, so while the UTH temp is high the inside temp is not. will sticking the UTH on make a difference on that?

Re: To Stick or Not To Stick UTH Question
I don't think the adhesive material that coats the UTH sticks to plastic tubs very well anyway! Some folks use aluminum tape (Home Depot/Lowe's) to adhere the UTH to the bottom of a tub without removing the actual peel off paper from the UTH...that way, it's guaranteed to stick and easily removable for use on other tubs!

Also keep in mind that UTHs don't do much for ambient temps...they really only provide a nice basking spot within a hide...if you're having trouble with ambient temps, you may need to look into a space heater or similar solution to raise the temps in the room that your BP is in!

I don't like to stick them to the tub, because I change my mind all the time. Also if you need to wash the tub out, the heat is stuck to the bottom. I would use the foil tape since you can remove it if you need to.

DO not stick them. As pealing them off damages the heating coils inside the UTH and causes uneven heating and or not heat at all.
Always tape them to where you want to use it. So it can be removed and reused.
I tape the UTHS to all my QT tubs since theres no rack in that room.

Umm... I am almost positive that it says right on the packaging for those to NOT use those on plastic. I know the Zoo med one in the pic says it. Just a heads up if you didn't see it.

They all say dont use on plastic. Will not harm anything as i been using this method for YEARS. If your gonna use on plastic and plug right into the wall its not the Heat pads fault for user incompetence.
