    Re: Help... What is this?

I wouldnt be surprized if the snake was both sexes.
Think about paradox snakes. Are they not 2 snakes that merged in the egg to become one snake? They are also refered to as chimeras. There is a thread on here about that.
So what if the 2 snakes were a male and a female then merged and you ended up with one snake that had 2 sets of genes. one male and one female?

Well I contacted my vet and I am waiting to hear back. The "stuff" in question is in the freezer in case he requests it being brought in.

    Re: Help... What is this?

    Hi,

I hope you get it figured out and it is nothing to worry about.

I wondered if it could be fat from prey items? Is it possible for that to be left in the animals digestive system and then passed later in the usual way?

I have no idea if that is even possible but the old wives tale of 7 pounds of undigested meat in the human digestive tract and the unfortunate incident of the burmese that got badly burnt from a fatty regurge acting like napalm made me wonder.

Next time put stuff in the fridge, not the freezer. Ice crystals destroy cells and makes microscopic examinations worthless.
Would you breed a wobbler dog even though it had a cool coat?

The day after I posted the thread I contacted my vet and told him what had happened and what i have been told and heard. He said it sounds like an abnormal stool and to keep an eye on him to see if anything was out of the ordinary and to see how hes eating.

The snake has since eaten and had a bowel movement and is currently in shed. He seems to be doing fine. I am keeping him out of the breeding plans for a little while just to be 100% sure.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback.

sorry to post link but a similar looking substance here with a not good result. I'd get it to the vet just in case.

    Re: Help... What is this?

That one turned out to be this....

had the phone call from the vet, its worse than i ever could of imagined. he has an inflamed and then split stomach 2 weeks ago, his stomach acids just went to work on the surrounding areas then died of septicemia.

worst part is she is pretty sure he had cryptosporidium which basically is a nasty bacteria that is difficult to get rid of and can infect others, including humans! i have had a bad stomache for months now. we think it was the female that gave him it when they were first introduced months ago. on futher questioning it looks as tho she is showing signs of the disease also, she regurged her last meal which is unlike her and a good sign towards this disease.

Sounds like yours is doing fine now...thankfully! If you see it again bring it up to your vet!! I just learned something new today...thank you everyone!!
