Press and Seal
Since I had a small issue with humidity last season I was hoping to use Press and seal this season to keep in the humidity. Now, I tend to check on eggs (if I'm being really good) every 2-3 days. Would I need to lift up the press and seal to allow for air circulation during this time or leave it be and only circulate the air once a week?

Re: Press and Seal
I use Press N Seal and don't open AT ALL until day 40-45 -- at that time I take off completly. Good luck.

Re: Press and Seal
Thanks! I can't wait till eggs! And I'm hoping for 3 clutches this season. When you lift up the press and seal, does it press back fine or do you have to replace it?

Re: Press and Seal
how are you setting up the tubs. Are you using substrateless or are eggs in the medium.
I have never used press n seal as i use substrateless and never had humidity issue.

Re: Press and Seal
I use vermiculite with eggs in the substrate. I did my egg tub exactly like Ralph Davis does in his videos last season. Temperature was fine but I had a hard time keeping the humidity up. This season I'm going to check on the eggs less often and use the press and seal to keep the humidity in. And humidity should stay at what % again? I have to go get a new thermometer and hydrometer for this season.

Re: Press and Seal
This is why i use the light diffuser in the tubs so i can keep the vermiculite wet as eggs will not be in the medium. You want a 95% RH and up. I never open the tubs since their not air tight. When i open them its to add water if needed.
