    He's a wuss!

Turns out my new pinstripe, Wiggles, is a big pushover. He's eaten 6 times with me, refused once cuz he was in shed. He would have taken it, except he striked, missed and after that didn't show any interest in it.

Today was feeding day, a bit earlier than normal, as have been the last couple feedings. But only by one day. Micron, who is on the same feeding schedule ate perfectly fine. The mouse went up and sniffed Wiggles a few times. I'm assuming this is what spooked him. Every time the mouse would do this he would jerk back, then the mouse got a little burst of energy and started jumping all over the tub which just freaked him out even more. :sigh: Sometime I loathe live feedings.

So, does anyone else have this problem? Maybe it's not a problem, just a little personality quirk. I mean, I'm 20 (21 next month WOO HOO!) and still afraid of the dark so I guess I can't talk! Next feeding I'm going to try frozen and see if he'll take it. Maybe it'll be less stressful on the little guy.

He was showing interest, he was/is hungry. He likes to get up super close to the mouse and then strike, but anytime the mouse moves he wimps out. He was about to strike 3-4 times, and the mouse would either move or jump across the tub.

At this age, he should be taking anything given to him, and has been up until today. He's just a weird eater.

My Pastel does that sometimes.. I feed him yesterday and the rat was sitting next to him with his paw on him ( like they are friends) an he did nothing but sit there for a few mins, then the rat moved away and BAM!! He was all over him like a fat kid on cake.. I love feeding live, I know sounds a lil sick, its part of life though... My blood she still eats f/t...

    Re: He's a wuss!

Well, I ended up pre killing (or maybe post killing depending on how you look at it) the mouse, and left it in his tub while we left for our family Christmas party. I was thinking about it during the entire party, and told him before we left "All you need to do for Christmas is just eat that mouse Wiggles!" Came home from the party, changed clothes and eagerly checked if the tub was empty... IT WAS! So now he's got a full belly, and a very happy owner, once again.

I guess everyone has to have a picky eater. So far, he's been it! Now I'm curious as to how next week will go...
