Happy Solstice!
Just a shout-out to all of my fellow Pagans/people who care about the changing of the seasons. Hope you had a great day, and are ready for another trip around the sun!

Re: Happy Solstice!
I've always been confused as to when the solstices occur. The winter solstice is on the 21st or 22nd? And the summer solstice is the 21st of June, right?

Re: Happy Solstice!
Toady's was extra special, it fell on my birthday so it was two celebrations. (Turned 35 today, ouch!) I hope those that celebrate had a Blessed Yule, and many wishes for our Christian friends to have a Merry Christmas coming up in a few days!

It varies between the 21st and 22nd for both solstices depending on the year. This year, the actual winter solstice (the moment when the tilt of the Earth's axis was most inclined away from the Sun) was at 5:47 pm on the Dec. 21st. I don't worry about getting the timing right, so whatever day the solstice occurs, I call that the solstice. I usually get up early on the winter solstice to watch the "newborn" sun rise, and stay outside to watch it set on the summer solstice.
I don't know that I explained that very well, but hopefully you get my drift.

Re: Happy Solstice!
Happy Solstice and Holidays to everyone! I was hopeing this would be the year where my gf and I got to experience a coven group celebration but alas, theres too much negativity towards open mindedness where I live and I have yet to find such a group but on the bright side my dad got to come home today, he works out of town all week and doesnt come home till the weekends. O yeah and happy b-day!
