Switch his bedding to paper towel for a while to see if you notice and mites.

If you have Provent a Mite on hand id treat the cage with that as well just encase

I haven't noticed any on him or in his water bowl, but I'll make sure to keep an eye out for them. I don't have any provent-a-mite on me right now, but if I see any I'll make sure to get it as soon as possible. Do you guys know the best place/cheapest to order provent-a-mite?

    Re: Weird behavior?

I know that provent-a-mite will kill everything in the enclosure, but if he ended up having mites, what would I use to treat the mites that are directly on him? Or would prevent-a-mite also kill those too?

Could he just be getting ready to shed??? I have one that will do that....as well as after you handle her....she will go "rinse off" when you put her back in her cage. She is such a brat...

    Re: Weird behavior?

PAM will kill all stages of the mites that are on him. It will last for 30 days in a small dusty residue in his cage that the mites will come in contact with and will die from this.

Just spray the cage down, before spraying the cage besure to remove the snake and water bowl and wait about 1 min to air it out. Return the snake when you feel comfortable, but wait 1 hr to return the water.

i usually wait an hour for the PAM to dry before placing the snake back in the enclosure.
