The HSUS really is crafty!
I am finding it very interesting with the Ban on pythons being voted on and such that Animal Planet is running a Animal Cops - extreme exotics episode. The first part had to do with a pair of horribly kept baby alligators. We as animal owners and keepers are really going to be up against it! It is solidifying my need to join USARK. Don't get me wrong , people who abuse or incorrectly keep an animal should be flogged. Ignorance is not an excuse given sites like BP.net, russian Tortoise.org, ect.. Yes there are incorrect sites out there but for the most part there is A LOT of decent info out there. And we as keepers need to educate as well! I don't mean to rant, I am just tired and this is all just slapping me in the face as to how intertwined the HSUS, ASPCA, and PETA really are and how their agendas dove tail.

There agendas revolve around one thing , money. We will not be free of there kind of ignorence until mankind has ascended over the need of money, power basically greed and thats not going to happen for awhile. It will take a great event, a disaster beyond comparisin of any we have experinced in history, to jump start into such a change.

I couldn't agree more. Which is why I believe the only way to win this battle is to fight fire with fire. HSUS is big, rich, and powerful, a "humane society" in name only with some $113 million in assets. What do you suppose they do with all that money? Ding Ding Ding you're right... they give it to politicians. They are a special interest group in the pocket of our elected officials.
But guess what folks. WE ARE A SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP TOO!!!! We should be fundraising and contributing to politicians. Short of that it's only a matter of time.

Im a member of USARK.. I see peope on here saying man I wish I could afford to join them but I cant right now.. Then they post a thread talking about their new morph they just bought...
THAT is what really angers me..
Joining USARK to help them financially is IMO more important at this very moment than buying that dream snake you have always wanted. Without them you may not be able to HAVE that snake in the future.
Food for thought.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the ASPCA is involved in the python ban.

I didn't think they were either.
From their website:
http://www.aspca.org/about-us/policy...s-as-pets.html
http://www.aspca.org/adoption/adopti...c-animals.html
Doesn't mean they are involved, but................

Re: The HSUS really is crafty!
Seems like Animal Planet has sold out to the likes of HSUS, PETA and The ASPCA with all their animal cops programming , Houston spca etc. Nothing but animal rights programs over and over .
Also all branches of the SPCA are completely against the keeping of exotics as pets including cage birds.
